Your grading system, not a default one

There is no single kung fu grading standard. One lineage uses sashes, another uses levels, another marks progression by forms learned, and the number of steps ranges from a handful to dozens. Grade names, their order and their count are configured per programme here — so the system describes what you already teach instead of asking you to renumber it.

Long curricula, longer memberships

Traditional programmes often run on a longer arc than the monthly cycle billing assumes, with members who stay for many years and progress slowly. Tenure and lifetime value matter more here than month-to-month churn, and both are reportable — including how long members actually last, which is the number that decides whether a business is healthy.

Forms, weapons and separate curricula

Weapons forms, lion dance, sanda and empty-hand curricula frequently run as parallel tracks with their own progression. Held as separate programmes with their own enrolments and their own grading, they can be tracked properly rather than compressed into a single rank the member does not really hold.

Our sash order is unusual. Does that matter?

No. The order, the names and the number of grades are yours to define. Nothing assumes a belt sequence borrowed from another art.

Can we track more than one curriculum per member?

Yes — a member can be enrolled in several programmes and hold a separate grade in each.
